In an effort to give thanks to all the people who helped me in a big way I want to tell you about a few organizations that are involved with this sort of trip.

The first is The Mountain Folk Adventure Series.

The Mountain Folk produces organized adventure events out of Bloomington, IN. PROFITS GO TO CHARITY. So if you live in Indiana and want to have a little adventure in your life, this could be a great way to try something new. You’ll have a blast getting rough/tumble all the while helping folks that really need it. Win-win everybody.

Smaller events take place monthly or bimonthly and can usually be found on their Facebook page. Just search “The Mountain Folk”. The next large event is the Pan-American Race from Toronto, Canada to Chile or Peru (cant remember). Over 100 different teams have expressed strong interest in this event and its looking like itll turn out to be a blast. I hope I can participate myself! Anyone want to take a drive to South America?

The Mountain Folk is run by Michael Waterford. Mike is a seasoned adventurer himself, paddling 1400 miles of the Mississippi, motorcycling across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia, and more rough stuff I cant think of right now. Mike is a big man with big ambition and was monumental in the planning and execution of my trip. I owe him many thanks and am proud to call him a friend.
